OXNARD : Man, 23, Treated for Gunshot Wound
A 23-year-old Oxnard man was treated for a single gunshot wound to his right knee an hour after police investigated reports of shots fired in a south Oxnard neighborhood, authorities said Sunday.
Police were called to the 800 block of Cedar Court about 9 p.m. Saturday when nearby residents heard what sounded like gunshots, officials said.
After an initial investigation, officers found no evidence of shots being fired and no victim at the location. They later learned that at least one witness saw several suspects riding bicycles away from the area. About an hour later, Raymond Lara showed up at St. John’s Regional Medical Center, where he was treated for a gunshot wound to his right knee, police said.
