All-Star Game to Feature Robbins, Garrett
Shandy Robbins of Marina and Jennifer Garrett of Capistrano Valley have been selected to represent the South team on the inaugural California State High School Women’s Basketball All-Star game Sunday at the Bren Center.
Robbins, who will attend Oregon next season, and Garrett, who is going to Northern Arizona, are among the 20 players participating. The game starts at 3 p.m. and will be preceded by a 1 p.m. game between the San Diego Rampage and the NJB Eighth-Grade All-Stars.
Two dollars of every $5 admission will go to the Darlene May Foundation. May, the retired Cal Poly Pomona women’s basketball coach and the NCAA’s winningest Division II women’s coach, is battling cancer.
Ann Meyers Drysdale is the honorary chairperson.
