Two Words: Plastic Shortage: Coca-Cola Bottling Co. said it will be ready to cope with any shortage of resin used to make its plastic soft drink bottles.

“There’s a potential for a resin shortage this summer and we’re doing all we can to be prepared for that,” Coca-Cola Bottling President James Moore told shareholders at the company’s annual meeting. “That means the bottles may be in short supply.”

The return of Coke’s 20-ounce contour bottle made from plastic has bolstered sales, he said.
