Youths Who Help
* Thank you for the coverage of the Youth Connection Conference on volunteerism.
I was one of the many teen-agers who attended the conference, sponsored by the Volunteer Center of Greater Orange County and Target stores. This innovative conference allowed Orange County youths to explore ways to volunteer their time to make a difference in their communities.
Now more than ever, volunteerism must become a way of life for our residents.
Youth volunteerism is on the rise, and conferences like the one I attended are making it easier for youths to recognize how we can be contributors to society and to gain skills that empower us to make things happen in our own neighborhoods.
