Radio Host Pleads Not Guilty to 35 Fraud Charges: Sonny Bloch, one of the nation’s longest-running financial radio talk show hosts, who was arrested in the Dominican Republic, appeared calm and remained silent during a 10-minute hearing before Judge Nicholas Politan in federal court in Newark, N.J. His lawyers entered the plea and the judge granted their request to have him moved from Union County jail in New Jersey to the Metropolitan Detention Center in New York City. They did not request bail for Bloch and no date was scheduled for a hearing. Bloch, whose show was broadcast for 15 years and heard by 1.5 million listeners six days a week, was indicted late last month by a Newark federal grand jury for allegedly defrauding investors of $21 million.
