GLENDORA : Services for Slain Police Officer Set for Thursday

Memorial services for slain Glendora Police Officer Louis A. Pompei are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday at the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, city officials said Monday.
Pompei, 30, was fatally shot Friday as he tried to stop a holdup at a Vons supermarket in San Dimas. Pompei is the first Glendora police officer to be killed in the line of duty.
Visiting hours are scheduled from 3:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Glenkirk Presbyterian Church, 1700 E. Palopinto Ave., Glendora. Pompei will be buried in Pennsylvania, where he grew up.
