Driver Has Heart Attack, Dies After 2-Car Crash

LAKEVIEW — A Reseda woman who had a heart attack and lost control of her car on the Antelope Valley Freeway died after her vehicle struck another car head-on, authorities said.
Caroline Cinquemani, 67, was headed south on the freeway when she had a heart attack two miles south of Barrel Springs Road at about 8 a.m., said Officer Miguel Siordia of the California Highway Patrol.
Cinquemani’s car crossed the freeway’s center divider, entered the northbound lanes and struck an auto driven by Glenda Gourdine, 31, of Lancaster, Siordia said.
Cinquemani was taken to Desert Palms Hospital, where she died a short time later, he said.
Gourdine was taken to Lancaster Community Hospital and then transferred to Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Panorama City in fair condition, Siordia said.
