J.P. Morgan, the nation’s fifth-largest bank, earned $315 million, or $1.56 a share, compared to $350 million, or $1.73 a share, for the 1994 second quarter.
J.P. Morgan & Co. Inc. said profit fell 10% in the first quarter on flat revenue, and Bank of New York Co. saw earnings jump 28% on higher fee income, the banks said Thursday.
