Louisiana-Pacific Corp. earnings plunged almost 50% in the second quarter, mostly because of diminishing demand for building products, the company said Thursday.
The Portland, Ore.-based wood products company earned $42.2 million, or 40 cents a share, in the quarter ended June 30, compared to $81.9 million, or 75 cents a share, a year earlier.
Sales were also lower, dropping to $709 million from $774 million in 1994.
