Heart Attack Is Suspected in Fatal Anaheim Accident
ANAHEIM — An Ontario man who apparently had suffered a heart attack died after losing control of his pickup truck and crashing into a parked car Friday, police said.
Douglas Ward, 54, was making a right turn from Anaheim Boulevard to La Palma Avenue at about 11 a.m. when his car veered to the right, struck a center divider and plowed into a parked car, police said.
There was no skid marks at the scene, which may indicate that the driver had been unconscious or having a seizure, authorities said.
Witnesses pulled the man out of the vehicle and administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first aid.
Paramedics transported him to Anaheim Memorial Hospital, where he died.
