NEW YORK — A cruise boat capsized on the East River, dumping 38 people into the water near Manhattan, police said. No one was seriously hurt.
Salvatore Piazza, owner of the 50-foot boat, told police he was making a slight left turn Thursday when the craft hit a swell and flipped over, police said.
The Coast Guard, police and fire departments had everyone out of the water within 10 minutes. Most passengers were treated for exposure at a hospital and released.
