City Council Meeting
What: The city staff is scheduled to give a report on whether a proposed underpass at the railroad tracks at Highland Avenue can be built without having to condemn property. The issue has been the topic of heated debate for years. If city officials decide that the construction cannot be done without condemnation, the project probably will be dropped.

Information: (714) 738-6300

Irvine
School Board Meeting
What: Trustees will continue discussion on whether to put a proposed parcel tax on the ballot to raise revenue for the financially troubled school district. The school board delayed action on the levy, which would tax residential and commercial properties, until after the vote on Measure R, the proposed half-cent countywide sales tax that was rejected. A school district study indicates that voter support for the parcel tax falls short of the two-thirds majority needed for approval.

Information: (714) 651-0444
