Company Town : Cooperstein Named Viacom VP

Richard B. Cooperstein has been named vice president of Viacom Entertainment Group. Cooperstein joins Viacom after having served as a Warner Bros. international distribution executive in London from 1989 through 1993. He will be responsible for identifying and developing new business ventures.

* Julie Anne Weitz has joined Turner Network Television as vice president of original programming development. Rob Sorcher has been named general manager of the Cartoon Network’s domestic division. Tom Karsch has been named senior vice president and general manager of Turner Classic Movies.
* Suzie Peterson has been named senior vice president of creative affairs for MCA/Universal Family Entertainment, Universal Cartoon Studios and the MCA Home Entertainment Group. Paul LaFrance has been appointed vice president of planning and development for Universal Studios Hollywood.
* Fox Broadcasting Co. has named Victoria L. Quoss senior vice president of network distribution. Twentieth Century Fox’s licensing and merchandising division has named Michael Tomlin vice president of national promotions for feature film an video.
* Cinamerica Theatres has named Charles Goldwater president and CEO.
