MORE RELIEF: An American all-star lineup is coming on board for another benefit album. This one is for the Sweet Relief foundation, an organization helping musicians in crisis, launched after singer-songwriter Victoria Williams was the beneficiary of a 1993 tribute album to help her with expenses for multiple sclerosis treatments.

“Sweet Relief II” will consist of songs written by Vic Chesnutt, an Athens, Ga. singer-songwriter who uses a wheelchair due to an auto accident. Among those signed to sing them are R.E.M., Live, Counting Crows, Cracker and duets of Madonna with singer-songwriter Joe Henry (who’s married to her sister), Bob Mould with Kristin Hersh and Chesnutt himself with Williams.

Williams’ manager, Danny Heaps, says that Sweet Relief gave more than $300,000 to musicians in need last year. Release date and label for the new project are to be determined.
