BERGAMOT STATION

The recent article by Suzanne Muchnic speculating about the long-term success of the new arts complex at Bergamot Station in Santa Monica was hopeful and complimentary to all involved (“Bergamot Is on the Fast Track,” Aug. 27).
The bottom line to the success of the Bergamot galleries is their ability to sell art. I would be amazed if they are selling much currently. Except for a few outstanding shows, the art has been abysmally poor. Most galleries are committing the ultimate turnoff to collectors: The work is just plain dull.
