ANAHEIM — An 18-year-old Orange man was shot and killed Saturday morning in a gang-related drive-by shooting outside a 7-Eleven, police said.
Police responding to an emergency call found the man, whose name is being withheld pending notification of relatives, lying on the walkway in front of the convenience store in the 1200 block of Santa Ana Street about 4:30 a.m.
The man had been shot in the chest, police said. He was taken to Western Medical Center-Anaheim and later transferred to UCI Medical Center where he died about 1:40 p.m. Saturday, police said.
Witnesses told police someone in a car carrying the shooter yelled gang slogans at the man before shots were fired.
“The car drove by and someone yelled at the guy and then blew him away,” said Anaheim Lt. Dave Severson.
