Rio Hondo 25, Glendale 10--The Roadrunners held Glendale to minus-14 yards rushing and sacked Vaquero quarterbacks nine times at Glendale High.
Rio Hondo (2-0) built a 16-0 lead late in the second quarter on a 70-yard pass play from Gabe Gutierrez to Tony Cornay, a 28-yard field goal by Richard Williams and a one-yard touchdown run by John Parker.
Glendale’s Anthony Perico kicked a 30-yard field goal.
Gutierrez hit Damond Winston on a 58-yard scoring play to make it 23-3. Glendale (0-2) scored 24 seconds later on Aryan Hart’s 29-yard pass to Johnny McCool.
