Antelope Valley 28, Santa Barbara 12--The Marauders used a quick start and a bend-but-don’t-break defense to beat the Vaqueros at Lancaster.
Antelope Valley drove 64 yards on its opening possession and scored on quarterback Shawn Sharp’s seven-yard run less than two minutes into the game.
Sharp, who completed eight of 15 for 122 yards and two touchdowns, added a 23-yard scoring strike to Troy Searcy to give Antelope Valley (1-1) a 21-12 halftime lead.
J.T. Stone of Santa Barbara (1-1) completed 21 of 41 for 322 yards.
