San Marcos 18, Buena 12--Danny Ramirez helped lead San Marcos (2-2, 1-0) while six turnovers and nine penalties for 103 yards plagued Buena (1-2-1, 0-1) in a game at Ventura.

Ramirez rushed for 98 yards in 24 carries.

Bulldog quarterback Glenn Dudley completed 17 of 36 for 199 yards and two interceptions. Running back Josh Cross rushed for 120 yards in 18 carries and two touchdowns. T.J. Stafford caught nine passes for 116 yards.

The Royals were able to win despite two key injuries. Rand Holdren did not return after the first quarter and appeared to have suffered an injury on his five-yard touchdown. In the third quarter on a fake punt, Corey Leholm suffered a neck injury on a 35-yard run. He had to be taken from the field in an ambulance.

Backup quarterback Kevin Ludwick completed three of seven for 35 and one touchdown.
