Anaheim Man Critically Hurt in Car Crash

A 60-year-old man was seriously injured Tuesday morning after his car struck a parked vehicle, causing a chain-reaction collision that damaged three other parked cars, police said.

Witnesses said Gilbert Hayes of Anaheim put his right forearm to his head as if he were ill seconds before he lost control of his car on South Acacia Avenue about 9 a.m., Police Investigator Bill Regan said.

Hayes’ car veered into the northbound lanes and collided with the parked car, landing on top of it and beginning the series of collisions, Regan said.
