Economic Outlook: The future of the region’s battered economy will be the topic of the 47th annual Business Outlook Conference, sponsored by the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday at the Biltmore Hotel Downtown. Joseph A. Wahed, chief economist at Wells Fargo Bank, will offer his predictions as to where the economy is headed. Recent indicators show that the economy is in a second year of recovery, though consumer confidence remains shaky. The conference will also feature a speech by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Peter Arnett.
