Volleyball/Outside Hitter
Redding, from Mater Dei High, capped an amazing season with an award-winning performance in the state tournament Sunday as Golden West won its third consecutive championship. Redding was selected as the Orange Empire Conference player of the year and also made the all-state team. She ended her season by getting 48 kills and 28 digs in four matches and was selected as the tournament’s most valuable player, as Golden West beat Long Beach, 15-11, for the title.

* Orange Coast, sophomore. She had 54 points and 40 rebounds and was selected most valuable player in the Cuesta tournament.
