Harmon, Mann Lead Santa Ana Valley Past Paramount, 78-52, in First Round

IRVINE — Santa Ana Valley used its half-court trap and pressure defense to force the tempo, and outscored Paramount by 19 points in the second quarter of a 78-52 victory in the opening round of the Irvine World News tournament Tuesday at Irvine High.
The Falcons (3-3) outscored Paramount, 22-3, in the second quarter and led, 42-14, at the half. Ike Harmon had 22 points and eight rebounds and Olujimi Mann had 17 points, nine assists and eight steals for Santa Ana Valley. Santa Ana Valley next plays Estancia in a second-round game at 6 tonight at Irvine High.
