LAKE CASITAS : Trout to Be Planted for New Year’s Weekend

More than 1,800 pounds of rainbow trout will be dumped into Lake Casitas on Thursday just in time for the New Year’s holiday weekend. The trout--big enough to catch at one pound--will come from the Lost River Trout Farm in Idaho.
This first season planting of the rainbow trout was scheduled to coincide with the holiday. Camping reservations at Lake Casitas must be made in advance.
In addition, Lake Casitas’ annual boat and vehicle passes are now available.
