Valleywide : 3 Residents Named to County Boards

Three San Fernando Valley residents were among seven appointed by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors Tuesday to serve on various county advisory commissions and councils.
The Valley appointees, who were nominated by Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky, are:
* Teresa de Crescenzo, a Studio City resident, psychotherapist and founder of Gay and Lesbian Adolescent Social Services, to a two-year term on the Children’s Planning Council.
* Steven Afriat, a political consultant and Sherman Oaks resident, to a four-year term on the Business License Commission.
* Meyer Bernfield, a Studio City resident and senior citizens activist, to a two-year term on the Commission on Aging.
Other appointees:
* Francine Diamond of Pacific Palisades, a former teacher and founder of the Los Angeles Resource Connection for Children and Families, to an indefinite term on the Inter-Agency Council on Child Abuse and Neglect.
* Phalen (Chuck) Hurewitz, a Beverly Hills attorney, was reappointed to a two-year term on the Commission on Children and Families.
* Daniel Cohen, a Santa Monica resident and retired electrician, was reappointed to a two-year term on the Commission on Aging.
* Morris Kight, former president of the Gay and Lesbian Community Services Center, was reappointed to a four-year term on the Commission on Human Relations.
