Royal Meets Westlake Halfway, Then Pulls Away to Win, 3-0

Kimmie Erwin, Stephanie Caswell and Rebecca Krueger scored second-half goals as Royal High defeated Westlake, 3-0, Wednesday in a Marmonte League girls’ soccer match at Royal.

Melissa Endy stopped nine shots for Royal (8-4-1, 2-1 in league play), while Erica Erlich made seven saves for Westlake (6-4, 2-1), which was considered the preseason league favorite.

Agoura 3, Camarillo 1--Nicole Imhof, April Blaker and Christine Larallde scored for the Chargers (9-1, 3-0) in a Marmonte League match at Camarillo.

Simi Valley 3, Newbury Park 0--Sean Herrity scored twice for the Pioneers (11-2-3, 2-1) in a Marmonte League match at Simi Valley.

St. Francis 4, Chaminade 1--Eric Johnson scored his 13th and 14th goals and Shunta Shimizu scored two more as the Golden Knights (13-1, 3-0) defeated the Eagles (6-9-1, 0-3) in a Mission League match at Chaminade.

Harvard-Westlake 4, Alemany 2--Matt Edwards scored twice as the Wolverines (8-3-2, 2-1) defeated the Indians (7-7-1, 1-1) in a Mission League match at Alemany.

Glendale 4, Burroughs 1--Vaagn Babayan scored two goals and Gilbert Agaverdyan and Jefferson Pinzon each added one for the Dynamiters (9-2) at Glendale.
