Mission College is offering free English classes to qualified immigrant professionals who have university training.
The course, which begins Jan. 13, is part of a program called the Bilingual Professional Expressway. Students who qualify after taking the college’s English placement examination can be entered in the course at any time.
Created five years ago to help immigrant professionals integrate into the American job market, the Bilingual Professional Expressway also provides qualified individuals with the opportunity to obtain teaching credentials and state licenses.
Courses include accelerated English language instruction, general education course completion, transcript evaluation and university transfer assistance.
The rest of the program begins on Jan. 16 and the cost is $13 per unit.
