No. 1 Ventura Overwhelms Pierce, 108-29

K.K. Johns had 26 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and five steals as the Ventura College women’s basketball team crushed visiting Pierce, 108-29, in a Western State Conference interdivisional game Saturday night.
Johns was 10 of 10 from the field for Ventura (17-0), the top-ranked team in the state. Tori Anderson added 23 points and seven steals for the Pirates.
Navy 58, CS Northridge 57--Sarah Hagman scored a game-high 20 points for Northridge (2-12), but failed to get a final shot off after she rebounded a shot by Navy (12-1) with nine seconds left in overtime.
MEN’S BASKETBALL
Grand Canyon 78, The Master’s 69--Mike Penberthy scored 24 points, but the visiting Mustangs (12-4) were outscored by 18 points from the foul line in the nonconference game.
