2 Hurt in Attack by Suspected Skinheads
Two men were hospitalized Sunday following an early morning attack by suspected skinheads at a party in Thousand Oaks.
Stephen Bayer, 36, of Simi Valley suffered a puncture wound to his lower back as well as several small cuts and bruises to his face and arms. Christopher Riggs, 20, of Agoura was knocked unconscious with a beer bottle. Both men were taken to Los Robles Regional Medical Center, where they were treated and released.
The melee began about 2 a.m. at a party in the 300 block of Bedford Place, according to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department. Both victims were guests at the party.
Around 1:45 a.m., Bayer and a friend went to a convenience store to buy alcohol for the party, police said. When they returned, a group of eight to 10 white men, possibly skinheads, confronted Bayer and attacked him for unknown reasons.
Riggs came to Bayer’s aid and also was attacked. Police have made no arrests.
