Long Beach State Women Win

Kim Barfield scored 29 points, including 11 during a key first-half run, and Long Beach State beat Cal State Fullerton, 83-68, in a Big West Conference women’s basketball game Sunday in Fullerton.

Long Beach led, 18-17, with 8 minutes 49 seconds left in the first half, but the 49ers (4-5, 1-1) went on a 25-4 run the rest of the half and led, 43-21, at the break.

Things worsened early in the second half for Fullerton (3-9, 0-3). Long Beach used an 11-4 run in the first three minutes to increase the lead to 54-25.

Shayla Bradshaw scored 22 for Fullerton. Barfield had 10 rebounds and Janet Davis added 15 points for Long Beach.
