Seagate to Buy Minority Stake in Conner Unit: The Scotts Valley, Calif.-based disk drive maker said it has agreed to acquire a minority stake in Arcada Software Inc., a unit of Conner Peripherals Inc. Seagate Technology Inc. last year agreed to buy Conner for about $1.04 billion. A purchase price for the minority stake in Arcada was not disclosed. Conner, a computer disk drive maker in San Jose, owns about 69% of Arcada. Under the agreement, Arcada’s minority shareholders will receive 0.1545 share of Seagate for each Arcada share, and each option to acquire Arcada stock will be converted into an option to buy 0.1545 Seagate share. The transaction is subject to normal closing conditions, including the completion of the merger of Seagate and Conner, which is expected by March 31.
