Titans Beat UCLA for 1st Time Since ’86
FULLERTON — Cal State Fullerton women’s gymnastics team defeated UCLA Friday night for the first time during the regular season since 1986.
The Titans (1-0) scored 191.375 points. UCLA (0-1) had 190.875.
The Bruins’ Leah Homma finished first in three of four events to take individual all-around honors with a score of 39.35. Heather Fritzsche of Fullerton was second with 38.75 and Cristi Clifford placed third with 37.775.
Katy Maty was first in the floor exercise for the Titans, scoring 9.825 to defeat Homma by one-tenth of a point in the event. Fullerton’s Christy Lutz was second on the balance beam at 9.725.
