The Newport Harbor Art Museum has named...
The Newport Harbor Art Museum has named its third director of development in 18 months. Former museum board member Susan Porter replaces Karen Hinton, who left in September for a development director’s post at the City of Hope in Irvine. Hinton, who has already begun the job, has worked in investment banking and industrial real estate. The Newport Beach resident holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from USC. She had been on the museum’s board since 1987.
The City of Brea Gallery is accepting slide entries for the 13th annual “cARTe Blanche All-Media Juried Exhibition,” to be held April 21 to June 7. The competition, juried by Stanley C. Wilson, an artist who teaches life drawing and sculpture at Cal Poly Pomona, is open to all California artists.
About 100 works will be selected for the exhibition, and the awards include a total of $650 in cash prizes. All works may be offered for sale during the show. The entry fee is $10 per artwork (Brea residents and Brea Art Assn. members are entitled to one free entry.) All entries must be original and made within the past two years. Entry forms are available at the gallery or by calling (714) 990-7730.
