Acacia Elementary School will be a cooler place this year, thanks to two companies that helped the school get air-conditioning.
Morrow-Meadows, based in Walnut, and Gaines Electric, based in Long Beach, recently were honored with Community Appreciation Awards from the school’s students, teachers and parents for their donations.
The companies donated the wiring materials and labor to install air-conditioning units in 13 classrooms.
“The installation of this air-conditioning makes the difference between a wasted day and a productive day in hot weather,” said Christy Neynaber, president of the school’s Site Council.
