Used-Book Sale to Benefit Libraries
The Friends of the Thousand Oaks Library is asking the public to donate unwanted books for a used-book sale Feb. 3 to benefit the main library and its Newbury Park branch.
The sale will feature thousands of paperback and hardcover books from 25 cents to 75 cents apiece, and children’s books from 10 cents to 50 cents each. Book sets, Apple educational software and collectible paperbacks will be individually priced.
“Everyone must have bought a computer recently. We’ve got quite a few donated books about computers, and a lot of computer software,” said Barb Wilson, who is coordinating the sale. “We’ve got oversized books. We’ve got new books. You name it.”
Book donations can be dropped off at the circulation desk of the temporary Thousand Oaks Library at 2400 Willow Lane, or the Newbury Park branch at 2331 Borchard Road. The sale is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the temporary library. For information, call 493-2179.
