Greg Dixon was named football coach at St. Bernard, replacing Tom Paredes. Dixon is the school’s fourth coach in four years. He compiled a 31-20-1 record in five season at Daniel Murphy. . . . Tiffany Lewis scored 18 points, grabbed eight rebounds and had seven steals and three assists for Westchester in a 98-26 victory over Los Angeles High. . . . In the Martin Luther King Jr. Challenge on Monday, Westchester got 29 points from Billy Knight and beat Fontana 73-67. The Comets fell to Palisades, 61-53, earlier in the week as Chris Popoola, who transferred from Westchester to Palisades, scored 18 points. Guard Johannes Burge also scored 18 for the Dolphins. . . . Saif Mansour scored both goals in Santa Monica’s 2-0 boys’ soccer victory over Hawthorne. . . . The Venice girls’ basketball team improved to 2-0 in the Coastal Conference and 13-4 overall with a 58-43 victory over University. Guard Irene Ishikawa scored 17 points for the Gondaliers. . . . Sean Davidson scored 47 points and grabbed 21 rebounds in leading Westview past Baptist Christian, 77-35.
