Granada Hills Swimmer Aims at 2nd Record

One record down, one to go for 14-year-old swimmer Jennifer Parmenter of Granada Hills.
Parmenter, a freshman at L.A Baptist High, established a national age-group record of 4 minutes 15.37 seconds for the 400-yard individual medley at a meet last weekend at Belmont Plaza Pool in Long Beach.
This weekend in Seattle in the 200 individual medley, she takes aim at the national age-group mark set by Tracy Caulkins in 1978.
Parmenter last weekend shattered the Southern California record in the 200 individual medley previously held by Kristine Quance, also of Granada Hills, who now swims for USC.
Parmenter’s time of 2:01.21 was less than a second off Caulkins’ national mark of 2:00.27.
