Math for Parents Is Focus of Workshops
Parents can learn what their children are being taught in math class and how those skills are used in real life at two workshops put on by the Ventura County superintendent of schools office.
The first session starts at 7 p.m. tonight in the Cowan Conference Center, 550 Airport Way, Camarillo.
The same information will be presented at a second meeting scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Ventura High School. Admission to both events is $5.
Experts in math education will answer common questions and concerns about mathematics instruction, including when it is appropriate to use calculators, how test scores measure learning and how parents can assist with homework.
