Osorio Beats the Clock; Van Nuys Beats Reseda, 4-3

Jimmy Osorio scored in the final minute to give Van Nuys High a 4-3 victory Tuesday over Reseda in a Valley Pac-8 Conference boys’ soccer match at Van Nuys High.

Osorio scored on a pass from Daniel Recalde, who also scored a goal. Ivan Cabello scored twice for Van Nuys.

Reseda’s Nelson Peralta was ejected and the Regents (5-5-1, 5-3-1 in conference play) played the last 50 minutes a man short. Alex Acevedo scored twice and Marvin Quijano once for Reseda.

North Hollywood 6, Monroe 0--Denis Monjaraz scored three goals for the Huskies (4-3-2, 3-0-1) in a Valley Pac-8 Conference match at North Hollywood.

Sylmar 2, Canoga Park 1--Carlos Cabrera scored both goals for the Spartans (9-1-2, 7-1-1) in a Valley Pac-8 Conference match at Canoga Park.

Crescenta Valley 1, Muir 1--Gene Cho gave the Falcons a 1-0 second-half lead on a penalty shot, but Crescenta Valley surrendered a goal in the last five minutes at Muir and remained winless in Pacific League play.

St. Bonaventure 3, Fillmore 2--Andrew Montenegro scored all three goal for the Seraphs, including the clincher on a pass from Fritz Knoll in the 76th minute as St. Bonaventure (1-9-2, 1-5-1) won a Tri-Valley League match at Fillmore.

Rio Mesa 3, San Marcos 1--Jaime Ambriz, Carlos Perez and Jason High scored as the Spartans (10-5-2, 8-1) handed the Royals (12-5-2, 8-1) their first Channel League loss at San Marcos.

GIRLS

Buena 3, Santa Barbara 0--Teresa Almaraz and Kristina Quiroz scored in the first half, and Barbara Almaraz scored in the second as the Bulldogs (11-3-3, 8-0-1) tightened their grip on the Channel League lead at Buena.

Crescenta Valley 4, Muir 0--Hope Robertshaw and Liz Torkington scored in the first half, and Michelle Cena and Jana Barbaro scored in the second for the Falcons (15-3-2, 3-1) in a Pacific League match at Crescenta Valley.

Burroughs 1, Highland 0--Norma Orozco scored for the Indians (5-12-2, 1-3-1) on a header midway through the second half of a nonleague match at Burroughs.
