Fire Near Civic Center Causes Office Damage

Fire in a two-story office building near the Civic Center caused about $100,000 in damage Tuesday night, fire officials said.
A total of 43 firefighters responded to the 11:45 p.m. fire in the 300 block of Civic Center Drive West, Fire Department spokesman Jim Andrews said. No injuries were reported.
The first firefighters at the scene saw smoke and flames coming from the top floor of the building and called for help. Other units arrived and put out the blaze in 23 minutes, Andrews said.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
