Metalclad Corp.: The Newport Beach developer and operator of hazardous-waste-treatment facilities and industrial-insulation services posted a net loss of $1 million, or 5 cents a share, for the second fiscal quarter ended Nov. 30, compared with a loss of $2.1 million, or 15 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue was down 34% to $3.5 million from $5.3 million.
For the six months, the company said it narrowed its losses to $1.8 million, or 9 cents a share, from $4 million, or 31 cents a share, for the same period in 1994. Revenue declined 27% to $7 million from $9.6 million.
The company attributed the loss to expenses associated with the development of its treatment facilities in Mexico.
