Beach Closed Due to Sewage Spill Reopens

SAN CLEMENTE — County health officials on Friday reopened two miles of beach that was closed earlier in the week after 100,000 gallons of raw sewage spilled into the ocean.
Boca La Playa beach near Avenida Pico and North El Camino Real was closed after a pipeline pump failed Tuesday night.
County Health Care Agency officials reopened the beach at 4 p.m. Friday after laboratory tests of ocean water showed that it was safe to enter the water.
