Ice Dogs Stop a Pair of Streaks
Associated Press
KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Jozef Cierny scored three goals as the Ice Dogs ended a four-game losing streak with a 4-2 victory over the Michigan K-Wings on Friday night in the International Hockey League. Michigan had its 14-game win streak broken.
Goaltender Kay Whitmore, who was loaned to Los Angeles on Wednesday by Detroit, stopped 40 shots in his first start.
Cierny intercepted a Michigan pass and turned it into an empty-net goal to complete his hat trick.
