OXNARD : Pair Arrested in Cocaine Seizure
Two Oxnard residents suspected of selling large amounts of cocaine in the Santa Barbara area were arrested after officials seized $50,000 worth of cocaine in their home and a car, authorities said Saturday.
Santa Barbara police and sheriff’s officials tried to arrest Dionicio Fuerta Lopez, 25, on suspicion of parole violations as he arrived at his home on Ivywood Drive about 4:15 p.m. Friday, police said.
Lopez tried to flee in his car but was caught after he crashed into an unmarked police vehicle a short distance away, authorities said.
As detectives were searching the home, Theresa Garcia Peralta, Lopez’s mother-in-law, arrived. Police found more than a pound of cocaine in Lopez’s residence and about one-quarter of a pound in Peralta’s car, authorities said.
Both were arrested on suspicion of possession for sale of a controlled substance, authorities said.
