A resident recently honored for her civic work told the City Council that La Palma is a small city with a big reputation for citizen involvement.
“We are a very small geographic city but very big in heart,” said Hilda Braly, as she accepted a plaque for community service from the City Council.
The council honored Braly for her work on the city’s Cultural & Beautification Committee and for other civic involvement.
She has been active in the city’s Red Ribbon Week against drug abuse, Meals on Wheels for senior citizens, and Neighborhood Watch for crime prevention. She also represented La Palma on Orange County’s Consortium of Arts.
Braly and her husband, Hugh, are 30-year residents of the city.
