Record Company Executive Found Shot to Death in Garage
A record production company executive was found shot to death Tuesday in a Hollywood parking structure, police said.
Barry Skolnick, 30, of Thousand Oaks, general manager of Hollywood Recording Services, was pronounced dead at the scene about 8 a.m.
He died of a single gunshot to the chest, police said. His body was found on the second level of a parking structure at 6565 Sunset Blvd.
“We’re just at the initial stage of the investigation and haven’t established any motive yet,” said Lt. Al Moen of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Robbery-Homicide Division.
Asked if the killing appeared to be a professional execution, Moen said, “It may look something like that. But it also could be a robbery gone wrong.”
