. . . The basketball team at Christ College Irvine scored a decisive 110-86 victory over rival Southwestern Baptist Bible College during its first homecoming game in a new $5.2-million gymnasium.

Darwin Appleberry, a 6-foot-6-inch center at Christ College (now called Concordia University), led the team to victory with 12 rebounds and six assists.
