Fire Officials to Send Safety Tips to Homes
As part of the Fire Department’s continuing effort to educate residents on safety issues, information to protect homes and lives will be brought to front doors.
The department’s public education office is offering home fire safety checklists to local real estate agents to be used in their door-to-door “farming” activities.
Farming is a common practice in which real estate agents supply entire neighborhoods with promotional materials.
The fire safety checklists include tips on maintenance of smoke detectors, portable heaters, safe cooking practices, electricity, safe smoking habits and fire escape planning.
Real estate agents or others interested in the program can call the department’s public education office at (714) 536-5569 or 536-5419.
