Sanford Feldman; TV Executive, Rock Concert Promoter
Sanford Feldman, 56, an attorney and television executive who also promoted rock concerts. A native of New York, Feldman was educated at Queens College and Brooklyn Law School and began his law career in Baldwin, N.Y. He served as assistant county attorney for Nassau County, made an unsuccessful run for Congress and was an aide to U.S. Sen. Robert F. Kennedy (D-N.Y.). Feldman then became a network program attorney for NBC and later a vice president at ABC. Relocating to Los Angeles in the 1970s, he became an executive with Viacom Productions and then formed Excelsior Productions, producing such rock festivals as Cal Jam II, Canada Jam and Chicago Jam. On Jan. 29 in Los Angeles of colon cancer.
