Obituaries : Tom S. Reeves; Port Safety Specialist
Tom S. Reeves, a longtime Ventura County resident, died at his home in Oak View on Monday after a brief illness. He was 46.
A native of Hollywood, Reeves moved to Ventura County in 1976 and worked as a safety specialist for the Navy at Port Hueneme, said his wife, Debra Reeves.
Before that, Reeves served in the U. S. Air Force from 1969 to 1974 and worked as a patrolman for the California Highway Patrol in Los Angeles County from 1974 to 1976, his wife said. Reeves spent his free time with his family and riding his bicycle, she said.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Terry Reeves of Ventura, and his mother, Helen Reeves Pearson of Los Angeles.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Reeves’ name to the Children’s Club of the Assistance League in Los Angeles.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Joseph P. Reardon Funeral Home in Ventura.
